Buying Electronics

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'd like to know where is the best and Cheapest place to buy Electronics here in Bangkok? Products such as mobile phones, laptops, Mp3 players, Computer accessories and more.

Is China a good option to buy them ? How cheaper is it from Thailand ?

Thanks in advance!

No, I'm talking about Branded products like Nokia, Sony, Samsung, Ericsson and all.

I have been comparing price between Thailand and China for a while now I have bought alot of stuff in China which I normally would buy in Thailand. Most cheap electronics come from China so obviously China is alot cheaper.

recently after looking in BKK I decided to buy Canon 400D SLR camera BKK price 31000 baht China same model 5000rmb,22000baht international warantee same as I would get in BKK.Mobile phones and computers I find better to buy in BKK as the OS are all in Chinese in China.

One rule applies to buying cheap electronics everywhere: Do your research. It's very easy to get ripped off, get a copied product, not get everything that comes with a product, get the wrong product, etc. etc. etc.

Somehow, I doubt that you could buy a 400D Kit in China for 22,000 baht. In the US, where it's already cheap, even the non-kit (no lens) costs around 23,000 baht.

Pantip plaza is for buying computer stuff.

For buying electronics, just go to a local shopping center. Prices are usually controlled by the manufacturer, so they will be the same no matter where you go. There might be some places with better "promotions", and you might be able to get a deal from some salesman. If you're paying in cash, you can go to the retail shops *outside* the shopping centers, and they'll usually give you 5% or more discount.
