Thai media Siam Rath continued their fascination with what amulets Thai drivers are wearing when they have "miracle survivals".

 

Rarely do such stories contain criticism of driving standards; the amulet is the news.

 

This one happened in a klong near the estate of Thap Krabeu in Samrong sub-district of Surin, NE Thailand.

 

Surachet, 35, was at the wheel of an Isuzu D-Max that ended up in a 3 meter deep klong or water irrigation ditch after a tire exploded.

He said he was only going 60 kmph, went into a spin and thought he was going to die in the deep klong.

But by some miracle he did not overturn in the klong and was able to save himself.

 

He put all this down to Luang Poo Heng the abbot of Wat Pattana-aram in Surin. 

 

His gracious benevolence, through the amulet around his neck, saved the day.

In the online course for extended your driving license is a question how do you greet your vehicle in the morning??/ One answer is with a flower garland for good luck... Maybe if you wear an amulet there would be less accidents ... but apparrently they are not working for that

THE VID I watched, when renewing my driving licence,  never showed that one had to wear an amulet....!!!!!

Imagine what would happen if an amulet existed that actually prevented an accident?

Hmmm, maybe a business opportunity here?

If that klong is 3m deep, the people standing by the truck must be at least 4m tall!

Even the big digger rears back in amazement!

lets start a Temple of Farang and sell amulets. we have less accidents so business should be great!

My wife used to have me wear an amulet to prevent me from getting shot, have never been shot so must have worked............so far. (insert sarcasm) 55555

I've never had a crash wearing a Sunderland or Buriram football shirts. I have 5 Buriram shirts, they are very powerfull.
