National – Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai revealed today, April 19th, that U.S. President Joe Biden had invited Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha to attend the US-ASEAN summit in Washington D.C. between May 12th and the 13th.

Considering senile old Joe is now shaking hands with the invisible man and being given directions by the Easter Bunny, nothing would surprise me

Not a lot of good choices in that last US election but better than having Putin's puppet in that office.

Biden reaching out to a military coup leader?  Well, well, well....how short political memories are.  In this case it's only to gain US more buffer against China.

The US-ASEAN summit is in DC.  Since Thailand is part of ASEAN why would he not be included?  Next time how about holding the summit in an ASEAN nation.  Long way to go to essentially talk about nothing.  The future of ASEAN is to be aligned with China.  Besides military assistance and training what else can the US offer to any ASEAN nation?

Yes, that was my initial thought, I was under the impression the USA only dealt with democratically elected leaders.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall at that meeting.

This could be a great opportunity....all the despots of SE Asia, together at one time in the same room!

Biden & Prayuth have discussed many times?  In Thai? Someone's nose just got a little longer.

Ha! OK, joking but the US has my one million baht a year income from the USA supporting me in Thai retirement. Don’t tell the US conservatives, some already see me as a deserter and it really infuriates them that I will be voting in the US 2022 elections by Absentee Ballot!

Perfect timing...would allow for a coup like they did to Thaksin.

This is Biden we are talking about. He can't remember what the nurses fed him for breakfast, let alone what happened in Thailand in 2014.

I think bellbottoms were in style around the time that changed.

I normally don’t get involved in political debate. And I’m not saying Biden is a great President.
I don’t know why some are having issues with Biden doing this.
im sure if Trump was President he would have invited North Korea.  Since he thought their leader was such a nice man.   But I guess that would have been ok.
How conveniently some forget.

Actually doubt that there would be any flies on the wall, more like around Prayuth's lips given what comes out of his mouth  ????

I guess the audience will be as interested in his statements as usual! ????

I think he's going to get the "Are you with us or China" question...

Prayut might consider being busy that day .

Mango and sticky rice will be served.

Good One, geriatric Joe is a total embarrassment not only to the USA, but the whole world!

The South China Sea has a few possible flashpoints, even Obama said it was cautious area 10 or so years ago.  China needs a solid ally on the SC Sea for naval facilities (like the type they are said to be building with artificial islands) and doesn't have one yet.  Biden will probably ask for assurances that Mr PM not provide them with such.

I have a relative who thinks the same way.  “So you are in Taiwan?”. No Thailand.

The US has much worse crimes in recent years.

PM Chan o cha invited to a weekend at Burnies.

Did Don also "reveal" that the Biden administration invited the government leaders of all other ASEAN countries as well? I am asking because I highly doubt that "Uncle Too" was the only one invited to attend a diplomatic event conspicuously called "ASEAN-US Summit".

How gracious of him that he would adjust his schedule to meet the summit dates and not simply set his own dates and let the Americans know when he is available.
