Special teams in Nakhon Phanom in NE Thailand announced the arrest of 52 year old Phisamai Suwanbupha or Pik, reported Siam Rath

They knew he had been up to illegal criminal activity but never caught him with the evidence.

That changed a few days ago when he was caught with 16,000 yaba pills after making a visit to the Laotian side of the river opposite Tha Uthen district.

He admitted to smuggling drugs for a long time. He said he had no particular job so turned to fishing but soon saw there was far more money in smuggling.

Police are looking for the bigger fish behind the operation and making sure that other fisherman on the river don't get the same idea about "easy money" in drugs.

stop looking in the wrong places.

The bigger fish were probably the ones that gave the name to their connections in the force to make 'some' arrests.

The BIB have no patience ,they can't resist the low hanging fruit. They get a few brownie points and as long as the big fish remain free they will have work for ever.

IIRC, a convicted drug felon who served time in Australia is currently a Thai government minister.
