Really basic question:  if one buys an SSF can one switch to another SSF if, for example, the performance is dire or one's investment objectives change, before the holding period is up?

It's the replacement for LTFs.  A form of mutual investment fund that requires a minimum 10 year investment.  Stands for the rather crass "Super Savings Fund".
