Can I cancel a work permit in a province different than the one where it was issued?

Since the royal decrees a few years ago the onus is on the employer to notify the labour department within 15 days.

 

I tried to cancel a work permit just over 1 year ago and they turned me away. I still have it.. nobody cared. I even got a new work permit in the meantime.

back before 4-5 years when i changed my job, i just got out of the lao border with the uncancelled work visa. the IO didnt understand why i would want it canceled and asked if im sure i want to go out of the country, scared he wont let me out cause the permit isn't canceled he just let me out and visa was void so shouldnt be problem. if the visa is void the WP is deff void.
