ASEAN’s joint statement on facing common global challenges

Amid dramatic shifts in the strategic landscape, and their negative impacts on global peace and stability, Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand issued a joint statement Wednesday on their respective roles as hosts of three upcoming and important leaders’ meetings.

 

The 478-word joint statement said that the three ASEAN members are privileged to host the ASEAN-related summit from 11th to 13th November, the G20 Summit on the 15th and 16th November and the Asia Pacific Economic Leaders’ Meeting on the 18th and 19th November 2022.

These meetings “share commonalities that provide a unique opportunity for all participating countries/economies to jointly advance the collective global and regional agenda and efforts to bring peace, prosperity and sustainable and inclusive development to all our peoples.”

One day a century or so from now, someone or something will have finally sent out the clowns, and corruption will merely be a costly and grubby footnote in these national histories.

Or maybe not.

Imagine the immense respect and true power this group could command if they were run even 75% as efficiently as Singapore.

Tragic for the billions who have to shamble through life under their evil opression and greed.

75% is an over-statement
BKK will easily be 2x better even if it's 30% as efficient n well planned as SG ..
The amount of urban decay that is evident in BKK is gaping ...

Let us hope that Myanmar has a major contribution to the discussion of "Global Peace and Stability"
