Private sector helps Thai schoolchildren cross the road safely

INN reported on an international initiative by US conglomerate 3M to improve road safety for schoolchildren.

 

The leading cause of death of the over 5s in the world is accidents on the road, according to data.

 

So 3M are joining forces with local authorities to do something about it by improving crossings, signage and road markings. 

 

And Thailand - where road accidents were named #1 by the World Health Organization in 2018 - has not been left out.

3M will conduct 100 projects in 23 countries.

 

The comapny's chief in Thailand Wiyadee Srinaknan said they were glad to take part in improvements outside Sureewithaya School in Saraburi in central Thailand.

The schools in our area have school kids controlling the traffic to allow students to cross the road. Police too busy sitting in the gold shops playing with their phones. Do the gold shop owners pay for this service ?
