He saw "Ai Kay" (as the media referred to the crocodile) with its mouth wide open.

A stun gun was used to subdue the beast who was being prepared to be taken to a pond in Nakhon Sawan in the north.

Amornthep said there were a lot of Bang Pakong river crocs in klongs in the area and anyone who sees one should call the authorities.

I've often wondered why Thailand has not got a serious problem with crocodiles, Australia has lots of crocodiles where temperatures are similar to Thailand, freshwater and saltwater.

Is it because the Thais have eaten these animals, it's the only thought I have?

In Australia the salt water crock is the one you have to be worried about. Tourist, the ones that can't read the signs posted and sleep on the beaches where the crocks come in at night when they are sleeping than  they pay the ultimate price.
