MAVERICK MP Thammanat Prompao yesterday (June 10) was named top leader of Thai Economic Party.

 

In an extraordinary caucus, Thammanat was unanimously voted as the top leader of Thai Economic Party whereas MP Pai Lik was named secretary-general of the “independent” party among a total of 22 members of its executive board.

 

Thammanat who has earlier performed as secretary-general of the party declined to tell whether he himself might be named a Thai Economic candidate for head of a post-election government, saying his camp still has time to think it over.

and Heroin is a top drug.

 

This is the guy who has 30 million in assets, spent 5 years in prison in Australia for drug dealiny a stint in Thai prison for rape/murder which was later acquitteed and whilat seemingly never having a job ammassed 30 million USD, has the concession to run Klong Toey port.... and no one anywhere in the 'independent agencies' seems to think anything is amiss....

That Thailand has given this gangster a voice is appalling! It all goes back to Prawit and Prayut, and shows how stupid they both are!

Good luck to everybody then ........... if such gifted sons of the land get to power. But as the saying goes "every country has the government it deserves" - provided it got voted in rather than couped in (latter like Myanmar). .......

Hmmm... I wonder whether this has anything to do with the draconian criminal defamation laws this country's elite stubbornly uphold -- because it benefits them and keeps critics silent.

It's breathtakingly shameful yet in Thailand it doesn't raise an eyebrow.  P & P are not stupid; they've had their moneys worth out of him and will be quietly retiring soon.
