Thailand's Prime Minister Prayut responded to a demand by a move forward party MP who urged the government to stop renewing the Emergency decree, which has been extended 18 times in two years,

The Prime minister insisted the decree is still required despite the drop in Covid-19 cases and easing of restrictions.

 

A police officer, his wife and their daughter were found shot dead,  with a bullet to the head, in a house in Bangkok yesterday.

 

Police found bloodstains in a car parked at the house, the bodies of a man and a woman were  on a bed in the house. Both had been shot in the head. A 9mm pistol was found. A young girl's body was also found with a gunshot to the head. Officers believe the 57 year old policeman shot his wife and daughter before turning the gun on himself. Investigations continue.

 

A former finance minister has called for fuel prices, including LPG or cooking gas to be better controlled.

He indicated refineries were making too much profit and suggested Prices could be reduced up to 4 baht/litre and still benefit oil refineries.

 

Thai police say Motorists who refuse to pay traffic  fines could be arrested,  under new rules those that fail to pay before a deadline will receive a warning, repeated offenders  would face arrest, 

 

Police say many motorists failed to pay fines and continued to  violate traffic rules.

 

A new bill on cannabis and hemp will limit the number of plants to ten per household, while large-scale cannabis growers for business will be required to pay a progressive fee to the government which will increase with the size of the operation.


The owner of a Japanese food company franchise has left Thailand for Dubai after more than 500 people complained of fraud to police. All 27 Daruma Suchi stores closed,

 

One franchise holder had been advised to pay the franchise fee then wait to receive her share of profits from the restaurant, monthly.

 

The franchise owner told his operators on a LINE group he was having problems obtaining supplies then vanished. Leaving franchise operators out of pocket by around 100 million baht.
