Thai Hospitality Industry and especially Golf Tour operators are feeling positive at last

Featured Replies

Thailand’s Centre of COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today approved the removal of the Thailand Pass registration scheme and an US$10,000 health insurance requirement for foreign visitors, effective 1 July, 2022. Both requirements were initially removed for Thai nationals from 1 June, 2022.

From 1 July, 2022, foreign nationals are only required to show proof of either a certificate of vaccination or a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result within 72 hours of travel.

These can be in a print or digital format. Random checks will be made on arrivals at Thailand’s international airports or land border checkpoints (in 22 provinces). Unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers who are random checked and who are unable to show proof of a pre-arrival negative test will be required to undergo a professional ATK test at the point of entry.

TAT Newsroom will be providing updates in detail via www.tatnews.org once the official directives have been announced in the Royal Thai Government Gazette.

Good news at last

This is great news for the beleaguered hospitality industry which has had a torrid three years during the pandemic.

Chee Chan Golf Club

Many golf clubs have spent the time during the pandemic to carry out urgent maintenance to the courses, so the 260 Thai golf courses have never been in better condition.

Golf vacationers tend to stay in 4-5 star hotels, take taxis and eat out in the best restaurants, so Golf Vacationers are an important income source for Thailand, along with Medical Tourism and Weddings.

Said it before, the Korean and Japanese golfers in particular will be back en masse now restrictions are all but lifted.

Two years waiting and ready to go off in 5 and 6's, something they can't do in their home countries I believe.

Going to be a pia again in the high season after a pleasant respite.

But pleased for the courses and caddies getting back to business.
