I need to transfere some money to buy land and laiter to build a house.

The Thai Bath is so strong at the moment so I had to know

I have accounts in tre differerents Thai banks and allso a US$ account ihere in Thailand.

As I understand it from other similar posts If you transfer pounds to thailand you get an onshore rate.If you request your bank to send Bahts you get the offshore rate. The onshore gives you more Bahts...one guy said the difference can be 6-7 bahts..which on substantial transfers adds up.

Hope this is correct and helps

:wai: Thanks a lot, I will contact my bank and se what they can do with this information.

Do a bank to bank transfer.

Tell your UK bank to send the funds via the SWIFT system and also tell them the

funds must be sent in Pounds.

You will need to tell the sending bank the SWIFT code for your Thai account.

Example, this is the SWIFT code for Siam Commercial Bank SICOTHBK

Naka.

Is the onshore rate always better than the offshore rate?

So if I am in the US & transfer dollars, I will get a better rate than converting to baht & then transfering?
