I've never tried water based exterior and I would think you have to create a key for water based rather than the oil based which I have applied just after a wipe down to clean off any dirt. pagallim Posted July 5, 2022 Share Posted July 5, 2022 (edited) Use an exterior gloss paint, no undercoat. These drain pipes are the typical blue plastic ones, painted 7 years ago.
