Bobtheblob
The tourism ministry plans to ask hotel operators to implement a dual-tariff structure. Seems pretty clear to me.
StayinThailand2much
Thank you, Thailand for letting me know. Leaving the country later this year, I will postpone my planned return from May to August. ????

Etaoin Shrdlu
This is nothing new. Many hotels have been doing this for quite some time, but perhaps this is the first time that it has been explicitly proposed by the government.

martin81
Hotels are private. It seems to me they take whatever price they want. There are so many discounts to be found on Agoda and others so at the moment very cheap rates can be found if clearing cookies first. But of course some hotels would be happy to charge extra for foreigners. But today there is so much competition among hotels in Thailand that it will be difficult.
