Photo courtesy of the Tay Ho People's Committee Hanoi plans to build a 13,000-square-meter performing arts center, capable of hosting around 3,500 seats, near the West Lake. The center, designed to float on Dam Tri Lake, is part of the planning for Quang An Peninsula. The Tay Ho District People's Committee is currently gathering opinions regarding the idea. Nguyen Le Hoang, the district's deputy chairman, said that while the center would be built on Dam Tri Lake, it would not affect the water surface much and would not encroach onto the West Lake. The center would be designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano, who has overseen projects like The Shard in London and Parliament House in Valletta, Malta.
