The Royal Thai police spokesman said their was no case about dereliction of duty or turning a blind eye against the Sai Mai police in Bangkok following a raid on Pahon Bar in their jurisdiction.

They had acted on a tip from a member of the public and worked with the Youth and Women Welfare Center to perform a raid, reported Sanook.

The owners of the bar face a number of charges including not having a licence, allowing illegal activity to occur on the premises, sevring alcohol to minors and allowing the under 20s to enter the premises.

All the clientele were being checked for drugs use after a quantity of drugs were found in the raid.

Young people's guardians were called to collect their children. They were warned that further infractions would result in arrest.

But the police were not involved in allowing illegal activity to go on under their watch, said Pol Maj-Gen Jirasan Kaewsaeng-ek yesterday.

There would be no transfers of the top brass at the Sai Mai police.
