Daily News Thai Caption: Just adding content

Daily News went to investigate as the story about "pretties" - Thai PR ladies - in fishtanks gained traction turning from a light hearted romp into a more serious drama.

The whole appropriateness of the venture was being discussed online.

Owner of Arowana Mall in JJ Mall Chatuchak Attachai Atdoddorn, 28, said he was just making content for publicity purposes.

He'd invited 20 pretties and net idols to promote his business and girls posing in the tanks were just a part of the opening show.

Two appeared with a fish worth a "seven figure" sum he said and it was only a few minutes in a tank measuring 36 inches by 84 inches.

There was also a mini concert by Thai female singer Katreeya English.

He admitted calling his pretties "mermaids" in the promotional literature.

Attachai noted that five minutes of "mermaid" power had given his business enormous advertising both from Thais and foreigners.

Many had come to the shop inquiring about the mermaids - they were told the promo event was over.

All that were left were the fancy fish - the girls had moved on.

He defended his decision to put the girls in the tanks saying that it was just good advertising - the fish were fine.

Give the man a medal.  Employ him as Director of TAT to replace that self serving present Director.  He knows how to promote a business far better than the useless mob at TAT.

And he did not spout how much the promotion would bring in from the arriving buyers like TAT would have....smart man, playing on the age old tactic of beauty sells....

Sex sells.  Thailand's reputation is built on it.

Mermans would have gotten a rise from me, lol...

Walked down Patpong as we cut through to go home after dinner last night after exiting from the BTS at Sal Daeng.  First time I have ever seen the main street open and touts badgering us as we walked on through, "Ping Pong Show"  he kept yelling and then got in front of my GF and tried to convince her....looks like the sex tourism industry along the Japanese corridor in Silom is off to a brisk start....

What they lacked are the fins and the mermen as well.

Why do they call it the Japanese corridor? Do they only cater to Japanese tourists?

Is this why Amber Heard lost her miniscule role in Aquaman

The mall housing Golf shops on 4 floors is just down the road and all of the Japanese restaurants are in that Area.  Maybe I am the only one that calls that Area by that name, but in the day, prior to Covid, it was filled with Japanese shops on the opposite side of the larger Patpong road. There is another Patpong road on the where Foodland is and that's where many bars are.  We avoid that Soi.

Could have waited to allow people to film until the girls were in the tanks.  A little undignified.
