Bangkok Authorities Seek Canal Dredging Assistance

 

 

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is asking the army and the Royal Irrigation Department (RID) for assistance in dredging the Lat Phrao and Saen Saeb canals as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the capital’s flood defenses.

Government checks on flood prevention plan for Bang Pu Industrial Estate

 

 

SAMUT PRAKAN (NNT) - To prevent a recurrence of floods in Samut Prakan that crippled the Bang Pu industrial estate last year, the government is following up on 13 flood-prevention measures. Meanwhile, rains in the North have caused the water level in the Chao Phraya river basin to rise.

Cabinet approves 5th phase of co-payment scheme for September-October

 

 

The cabinet decided today (Tuesday) to roll out the 5th phase of the popular 50:50 co-payment scheme by providing 800 baht to each of the 26.5 million Thais who have subscribed to the program, to be spent in September and October, said Director-General of the Fiscal Policy Office Pornchai Thiraveja.

Thai cabinet exempts locally-assembled and produced EVs from customs duties

 

 

The electric vehicle industry in Thailand was given a shot in the arm today (Tuesday) when the cabinet decided to exempt from customs duties battery electric vehicles (BEVs), which are locally assembled or produced in a (tax) Free Zone as defined in the law on industrial estates.
