Thailand's minister of health has stressed that the recreational use of cannabis is not permitted and the government would introduce a law to decriminalize the smoking of the flower part of the plant.

Last week a letter signed by 851 doctors  and pressure from the Muslim Community called for the decriminalisation of the drug to be reversed.

 

A group calling itself  ‘Campaign for Popular Democracy’ and the opposition Pheu Thai Party say prime minister Prayut's term in office officially ends on the Aug of 24th after having served two terms in office since the 2014 coup.

The group has a petition with 99 signatures calling on Prayut to quit by the 24th August.

 

A Vietnamese woman and her 16 year old daughter drowned while swimming at a beach in Phuket yesterday, The two had ignored red warning flags posted along the beach.

Rescuers brought them onshore and carried out CPR but neither regained consciousness.

 

The government will consider a request from the Royal Thai Air force not to cancel the purchase of two fighter jets worth 7.38 billion baht.
