A government committee is due to make a final decision today on whether to purchase two fighter jets, following an appeal by the Royal Thai Air Force.

 

The panel is said to be split over the decision, earlier a sub committee denied the purchase request. 

 

A Criminal Court sentenced a 67 year old woman and seven others who participated in an anti government protest in August to one year in jail and 20,000 baht fine, suspended for three years with two-year probation imposed plus 24-hour community service,

 

A charge of possessing cocaine filed against Red Bulls Vorayuth Yoo-vidhya following a road accident that killed a policeman in 2012 has expired after 10 years, the charge could have seen Vorayuth imprisoned for up to 3 years.

 

The remaining charge of reckless driving causing death carries a penalty of up to 10 years in jail, the statute of limitations on that charge is due to expire in 2027.

A 37 year old man was arrested at a house in Sa Kaeo eastern thailand, Accused of operating a gambling website. Officers found evidence of online lottery betting, and say the scheme turned over about 5 million baht a month.

 

Thailand's Minister of transport says it's likely human error caused the fatal collapse of a bridge on Rama 2 road that killed two people and injured two others on Sunday. An investigation is underway,

Russia's Aeroflot airlines says it is ready to resume direct flights between Moscow and Phuket starting at the end of October.
