Lopburi – Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul vows to be a candidate for Prime Minister in the next election if he receives enough support from the public.

 

The Minister as the Bhumjaithai Party leader, along with Transport Minister Saksiam Chidchob as the Secretary-General and party executives, arrived at Khok Samrong district on Sunday, August 7th, to formally introduce the party’s candidates for the Member of Parliaments in the next election.

 

During the speech, Anutin replied to the reporters’ question about who the party would nominate as the Prime Minister candidate that in the tradition of the Bhumjaithai Party, they would always nominate the party leader as the prime candidate.

Im assuming if the 8 year rule is emforced than the pm position will be a sham election with the top dogs playing pass the parcel. Prayut to Anutin. Anutin to whoever and so on. Saves having to have these silly coups all the time and just as effective.

This was obvious to me he wanted to be PM so i'm not completely stoned oops I mean stunned.

The most wonderful and complex paradox about Thai politics/politicians is that you don't require popular support to succeed deeply. Always other things at play. ????

Anutin got 1.52% in a recent poll (June 22-25) of 2,500 people in according to the Bangkok Post. 

 

That's really bad by any standards.

If he does indeed succeed in becoming PM it will be the traditional Thai reward for failure at every level of his current tenure.

I really is amazing that he should even be considered as PM. Clearly ability doesn't count for much.

Ability never has counted,  clearly shown awhile back when a popular opposition party leader was removed for being a threat to the establishment. 

Probably part of the deal when his party sold out to Prayuth and co. Cannabis was a big part of it so maybe the top job eventually was also in the deal.

I think you'll find that as soon as he gets the job his allegiances will change.

He's not a military man and has been towing the line nicely but lets see what happens when he doesn't have to support prayut anymore.

 

Zooming into his photo, is there a bong under his podium ?

I don't think he meets the minimum qualification to remain in office - some Generals stars.
