Football - In last night's UEFA Champions League first leg qualifying matches FC Copenhagen beat Trabzonspor 2-1 and Bode defeated Dinamo Zagreb 1-0. Glasgow Rangers and PSV Eindhoven drew 2-2 at Ibrox.

 

Transfer News - Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Spain's Under-21s defender Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht. The 21-year-old moves to the Etihad Stadium on a four-year deal for a fee of 13m euros plus add-ons.

 

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the £15m signing of defender Destiny Udogie from Serie A club Udinese on a five year contract and Brighton have signed Ecuadorian defender Pervis Estupinan from Spanish club Villarreal for an undisclosed fee. He has also signed a five-year contract.

 

Tennis - Naomi Osaka returned to action at the Cincinnati Open a week after retiring from her last match with a back injury. But the four-time Grand Slam champion was unable to end her slump in form, losing 6-4 7-5 to China's world number 44 Zhang Shuai.

 

Rugby League - Toulouse Olympique's Corey Norman has been banned for eight Super League matches after he "intentionally placed a hand between the buttocks of an opposing player".

 

The incident involving Oliver Holmes took place in the French side's loss to Warrington last Thursday. Australian Norman, who is 31, will miss the rest of the season for bottom side Toulouse.
