Pattaya authorities are kicking off another drainage project that goes from Soi Thepprasit 9 to Jomtien Beach, causing a road closure for 120 days.

Kiattisak Sriwongchai, Pattaya deputy permanent secretary, held a meeting on Monday, August 29th, to discuss the construction of the drainage system that would run from Soi Thepprasit 9 to Jomtien Beach.

According to Kiattisak, Pattaya City had employed a contractor namely LB Engineering Company to construct a new drainage line that would connect Soi Thepprasit 9 and Jomtien Beach for more effective flood control, starting in September.

For all we know maybe they have a budget burning a hole in their pockets they must use before it's expiry day and sod all the traffic chaos and jams they are creating with half of the city's main roads dug up...

Better hurry up, rainy season starts tomorrow....sheesh.

They've already started 2 days ago, can't get to Thepprasit from the go cart track. Have to back track to where the new bunjy jump is, turn right up to Thepprasit soi 7, turn left, then u turn to get onto Thepprasit 6 aka soi kor pai.. Headed towards the beach there is an area on both sides where it is down to one lane. Going to be a helluva mess come the weekend especially with the night market LOL

Be sure to only use the smallest pipe then you can dig it up and replace each year with a bigger pipe, you know, like Beach Road, kaching kaching!

No solutions at all  dig up the same old hole put in larger drains to hold the water below so less flooding on the surface been going on for year throughout Pattaya.

It is what you don't see type of thinking means the problem is solved it all leads to the sea when it gets there high tide it backs up nothing changes rain and drains are a black hole full of money for officials it doesn't matter who is in charge.????

More likely they just got the new budget and just gave the work to their friends that failed last time

Good idea.

That gocart track at times is underwater, the frontage road impassable.

The bungy jump relocated further down the road (higher ground).
