KLA and Chart Pattana parties are merging for the upcoming general election.

The news was confirmed by Kobsak Sabhavasu, a strategist for KLA Party.

The merger came as new electoral rules will be unfavorable for small parties.

The 2-ballot system and the method where 100 will be used as a divisor to calculate the number of party-list MP for each party meant that it will be very difficult for small parties to get even one seat in parliament.
