The Nation Group,  owners of The Nation news media, has won the bidding to buy ‘Post Today’ the Thai language media outlet of Bangkok Post. the price was stated at 58 million 850 thousand baht. 

Bangkok Post confirmed the sale and is likely to use the proceeds to pay off debts. 

Nation Group, that was founded by a former disgruntled employee of Bangkok Post – Suthichai Yoon.
 

The government plans to cushion householders against the rising cost of electricity, as new higher rates come into effect this month.

Assistance should be available in time for September's bills when electricity is due to rise by 18 percent,  according to the Minister for energy. 

He added the government would also encourage households to install solar panels. 

Chiang Mai police have seized over 200 million bahts worth of assets from an executive of a Cryptocurrency company, He and his girlfriend are wanted on charges of public fraud.

The two allegedly invited people to invest in a variety of cryptocurrency mining schemes on facebook and LINE apps.

Four people were arrested suspected of operating a scam call center selling illegal health products valued at some 600 million baht. 

The four allegedly produced advertising that exaggerated the benefits of cosmetics. 

Police seized computers, mobile phones, as well as illegal products worth around 24 million baht. 

A group of ten Rohingya people were found afloat in the sea off the coast of Satun yesterday, while another  31 were discovered on a nearby island.

They said they were forced off the boat on route from a Refugee Camp in Bangladesh to Indonesia. 
They were taken ashore and given food and water.
