Siam Rath reported that Bangkokians could now be happy that they have a new tourist attraction.

The Phra Nakhon district announced developments to the derelict site of "New World" department store in Banglamphu that has been given to the BMA.

The plan is to turn it into a tourist attraction and exhibition center.

Civil engineers have decided the building is sound and cleaners have been working to get it presentable.

Potted plants have been put in to make it more attractive ahead of plans to turn it into a place of exhibitions and trade.

Most “new” construction I’ve seen in Thailand over the years looks like it’s in the process of either being built or demolished, so no surprise there then! ????????????????
