THE PALANG PRACHARATH Party was today (Sept. 19) taken to task for using state welfare cards in “utterly disgusting” fashion to muster popularity among constituents in the provinces well ahead of the next general election.

Deputy Pheu Thai Party secretary-general Khunakorn Preechachanachai alleged that the largest coalition partner had obviously resorted to the distribution of state welfare cards, better known as cards for the poor, to some 20 million people nationwide as part of their electoral campaign conducted in “utterly disgusting” fashion as far as the taxpayer’s money is concerned.

His comments closely followed the sighting of a gigantic roadside sign featuring an enlarged picture of caretaker Prime Minister-cum-Palang Pracharath leader Prawit Wongsuwan and the party’s logo in Nongbua Lamphu where he officially visited over the weekend.
