  • I don't know which school cops attend, but it should be highly ranked worldwide. So many alumni manage to make millions/billions while on basic salaries. Well done fellas, well done...

  • Oh that's has to hurt and hurt a lot, loss the ill gotten money and worse, loss of face for the whole family, but if he had some brain, he would have stashed some of the loot overseas, far from prayin

Good job. Now, they just have to find the other billions of baht. It is likely a police chief here makes hundreds of millions a year, since the entire thing is a pyramid scheme. And does anyone think Big Joke or the current chief are not taking in hundreds of millions? How about the so called leaders?

Ferrari Joe. ????

He can't have got that money alone. Who helped?

That is what happens when you bring attention to yourself,  he should have stayed as Pure,  once he started calling himself Big?

Some reason in Thailand they use these names like Big to when they are really small same as Champ opposite of loser?

But it hasnt hurt so far Big Joke,  or the other Big who is now heading of Immigration?  ????

I'd be more impressed if the courts stated what his total worth was, and whether he has any other children -or wives.

In other unusually wealthy pockets... spoils will be shared around.

Sure. But why has he been 'stripped' after retirement - the list of his 'events' goes back decades, why wasn't he stripped decades back?

Any mention of criminal charges?

Not at first, after buying in. I don't expect it takes long to show a profit.

The saddest bit of news was his 200,000 baht car was also confiscated in Phuket  :cheesy:

Why pick on him, he was just a successful example of the primary Thai character trait - selfishness.  Corruption, both asking for and also paying bribes, ignoring traffic and building laws, all omni-pervasive demonstrations of selfishness.  There are (perhaps) a few exceptions - but almost universally from top to bottom whether from greed or social pressure selfishness is the order of the day.

As if nobody knew that Somchai was corrupt...
But, the boys in brown all wear the same uniform, so they have sworn never to rat on each other, so everyone can "benefit".

More interesting would be to start from the top-down.
But, that will NEVER happen.

Good they got one guy. Any news on Joe Ferrari?

Nothing new in Thailand

Memories of an ex-cop who was in charge of purchasing of computers for all police stations in Thailand

His wife allegedly opened a computer company and he bought all the computers from her instead of IBM

136 million baht was pocket change to him

His inspiration must have been Thaksin who bought a load of second hand US Army comms equipment and sold it to his police bosses. That was the beginning his fortune 500 company that he sold tax free for billions.

Agreed. Likely not one baht will be displaced.

I'll bet the vast majority of it is still overseas
