A proposal to end the current state of emergency that has been in place since the early days of covid 19, will be put forward at today’s government meeting with the CCSA - Center for Covid 19.

A reduced number of hospital admissions and deaths suggests the emergency decree will likely be dropped with the approval of Deputy prime minister Prawit.


Meanwhile from next month the government will no longer require visitors  to provide their vaccine certificate or a Covid test result upon arriving in the country.


Police have busted a major online gambling network in Khon Kaen and  seized more than 460 million baht in assets and cash in a series of raids at 52 locations,  40 suspects were apprehended.

The group had 3 websites used by some 50 thousand regular gamblers over the last 3 years.

A Myanmar model who took refuge in Thailand after speaking out against the military coup in her homeland has been prevented from returning to Bangkok.

23 year old Han Lay who called for help for her people last year during a beauty pageant, is said not to have a valid visa for Thailand.

While her representative said she was being detained at Bangkok airport and is the subject of an Interpol notice, however, details are still vague.


The government has given the go ahead to Robinhood and Grab to operate their app based taxi and motorcycle taxi services nationwide.

Both companies have to submit bank guarantees and register their vehicles as public transport, while their drivers will need to obtain a public transport driving license and be checked for a criminal record.




Taiwan aims to end its mandatory Covid-19 quarantine for arrivals from mid October,  and will ease other restrictions from next week as it continues to re-open to the outside world.


Japan announced it will lift tough COVID-19 restrictions on foreign tourists, and allow visa free travel for individuals from 11th October, a cap on daily arrivals will also end, as japan reopens borders after two and a half years.
