VOA after overstay

Recommended Posts

My Non B expired on the 30th of September. I am going to Laos on the 3rd of Oct. (will pay 2 day overstay). My new school does not have all my paperwork ready, my question is ; can I go to Laos and come back to Thailand the same day  on a VOA?

You can obtain a 30 day extension to the visa exempt entry for 1900baht.

So 75 days all up.

Sweet deal.

A visa on arrival is only available for those from about 18 countries after paying a 2000 baht fee for it.

There is no fee for a visa exempt entry.

As @ubonjoe is trying to make clear, it is critically important to know whether you want a VOA (visa on arrival) or you are eligible for a visa exemption. The VOA is only valid for a 30-day stay (usually, only 15 days, but temporarily allowing a longer stay) and it cannot be extended inside Thailand.
