Steven mason
My Non B expired on the 30th of September. I am going to Laos on the 3rd of Oct. (will pay 2 day overstay). My new school does not have all my paperwork ready, my question is ; can I go to Laos and come back to Thailand the same day on a VOA? ubonjoe
Are you asking about a 15 day visa on arrival or a visa exempt entry that is for 45 days now? It should not be a problem to get a new entry with a 2 day overstay.
DrJack54
OP, you mean reenter visa exempt. No problem and yes can do same day. BTW you will receive a 45 day stamp.

So 75 days all up. Sweet deal. Edited October 2, 2022 by DrJack54

There is no fee for a visa exempt entry.
BritTim
As @ubonjoe is trying to make clear, it is critically important to know whether you want a VOA (visa on arrival) or you are eligible for a visa exemption. The VOA is only valid for a 30-day stay (usually, only 15 days, but temporarily allowing a longer stay) and it cannot be extended inside Thailand.
