BANGKOK (NNT) - The water situation has been intense throughout the country. The prime minister will visit Khon Kaen and Ubon Ratchathani provinces tomorrow to check on local response and mitigation efforts.

Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha attended a meeting with nationwide provincial governors and representatives from agencies responsible for handling the water situation. During the video conference, Gen. Prayut expressed his concerns for everybody who has been afflicted by floods. He asserted he was not idle about the water situation, saying the government has made preparations and will assist flood victims.

The prime minister emphasized that all personnel in flooded areas work synergistically. He also thanks various agencies for submitting information to the shared pool, as this will benefit water management in the future. Gen. Prayut was referring to a cold airmass that is expected to move into Thailand from China. He said information reported during the day’s meeting will enable the government to issue primary and supplementary measures to deal with the water situation.

Tomorrow (4 October), Gen. Prayut will visit Khon Kaen province to inspect the water situation there and check on the functionality of high-pressure water pumps. He will then travel to Ubon Ratchathani to visit a shelter for flood victims and inspect homes that have been damaged by storms and floods. During this trip, the premier will also discuss water management with relevant agencies and follow up on the rehabilitation of local businesses.

More waffle than a breakfast fest...

8 years he's done sod-all to alleviate flooding.

More interested in buying toys for his redundant commanders who have nothing else to do all day.
