The deadly inferno at the Mountain B pub in Sattahip district of Chon Buri on August 5th claimed its 24th life last night (Monday), at the Somdech Phra Pinklao military hospital in Thon Buri.

The latest victim, Pattharakrit Suwanchim, a non-commissioned naval officer, was pronounced dead at 8.40pm. He had been hospitalised since he sustained severe burns when the fire struck the pub.

57 other people were injured in the blaze, some of whom have since died. 11 others are still in hospital, including three who are on ventilators.

And of course, not a word about the owners....are they being prosecuted...or are they simply being kept out of the news 'till alls quiet.?

Probably. From the linked article: Relatives of some of the victims have complained about slow progress in the case. And that is after they called in the bigwigs from Bangkok to investigate. It's happened, it's in the past, nothing can bring the dead back, just push it down the road until it's forgotten by all but the relatives of the victims. Then, in a couple of years or so, repeat.

RiP fella...

I keep thanking my lucky stars that my nephew who was a regular at Mountain B was not there that night. RIP And sad thoughts for those still suffering, Victims.Families and friends.

There is plenty of information about the investigation and how it's going in articles reporting on that. This was however just a short article announcing the death of another victim.

I'm slow reading Thai so it gets boring reading Thai news, I watch Thai news on Youtube instead. Better information in Thai than in English news.

Initially they tried to blame the electrician.....the owner has gone quiet and his mouthpiece attorney has nothing to say now.

I wonder what happened to that young Vietnamese woman who had to pay for hospital herself out of pocket. Did the hospitals throw throw her out?

The Mountain B nightclub has been demolished, but the legal proceedings and accountability phase behind the horrific fire that killed 24 people and injured dozens has only just begun.
