Park and military authorities in the Pong Nam Ron area of Chanthaburi on Thailand's eastern seaboard responded to reports of a dead wild elephant.

They found the about 40 year old creature decaying, reported Thai Rath.

It had fallen on wires that had held a live current. Electrocution was assumed.

The lines were traced to the house of the owner of an orchard, a man named Chokechai Buathara.

He admitted electrifying the wire but said the current used was only that used by farms.

He will face charges that amount to hunting wild restricted animals without permission.

They should have made the farmer hold the wire in order to reconfirm what voltage it was.

Good thing that it was only the elephant that touched the wire laid by this feckless <deleted>

If wasn't an elephant, would another electrocuted human even make the news.?
