20 armed men overpowered six drug enforcement officers after they lured a drug suspect from Chiang Rai to buy 10 packs of methamphetamines, he was arrested and was then set up to implicate another suspect.


When police moved in to arrest him 2 pickups and 2 cars arrived, 20 armed men jumped out and surrounded the police officers, they ordered the officers to surrender their weapons before the group left taking the officers cars with them.

 

A 43 year old man from New Zealand wanted by the authorities there and the FBI in America was arrested in Lat Krabang Bangkok Shane Ngakuru was identified by authorities as being part of an international criminal  syndicate called Caman-chero, the man overstayed his Thai visa and was deported yesterday to face criminal charges in the United states, from there he is likely to be sent on to New Zealand.

 

From November 15th people that deposit cash into an ATM machine will have to prove their identity, the idea is to prevent money laundering.


The deposits will need to be made using an ATM card,  credit, or debit card. Critics of the system say these cards charge fees which would be applied when making each deposit.
 
Part of a coastal road collapsed in Phuket between Kathu and Patong hill,  following a landslide, caused by torrential rain. Police had to close the road and advised people heading for the airport to allow extra time. Flooding also caused subsidence in several other parts of the south.

 

The department of health says just over 1000 clinics have opened this year to offer cannabis based treatments, 929 operate under the health department while the rest are managed by private hospitals.
