Southeast Asia’s second largest and once one of its most dynamic economies is struggling under the weight of an ageing population, a deteriorating education system and low yield rice farming. Thailand looks trapped as a middle-income country, unable to get rich, and stuck between a younger, dynamic Vietnam and larger Indonesia.

Thai PM visits flood victims in Sing Buri Province

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha flew to Sing Buri province today (Monday). His helicopter first landed in a stadium, belonging to the Sing Buri Provincial Administrative Organisation, for a briefing from officials on the flooding and relief being provided to its victims.

Six suspects wanted for the theft of police pistols and seized drugs arrested

Police have arrested six suspects who allegedly robbed a local official and five defence volunteers of their service pistols, about 20,000 methamphetamine pills and a car in Rattaphum district of Songkhla Province last week.
