(note: usually in west countries if a foreigner marry with a resident , that country will give citizenship or long resident after few years(for example USA) ,thai hasn't such laws for not bothering who get married and has family ?!! ) You can obtain a multi entry Non O Visa from your home country that can be stretched out to 15 months stay. This would require you to do border runs every 90 days. This can be extended every year in Thailand if you have an income of at least 40,000 Baht a month and a few other documents and photos and house visits to prove you live together. Then there would be no need for border runs.
June 27, 200719 yr i am certainly no expert here but i had alot of the same questions & got some really helpful answers. 1-I can apply for what type of vise ? i believe you can apply for a single or multi-entry Non-O visa... single enty visa if you can prove 40K baht income per month & want to extend it for a year so you don't have to do visa runs every 90 days. multi entry visa (from singapore) if you can prove 400k baht in a bank account somewhere (but no 40K baht income per month!), but you will have to do a visa run every 90 days. 2-How long i can stay in thai by that visa (it's 1year?) i believe you will get 15 months with the multi-Non-O visa if u do a visa run just before the last visa runs out at 12 months. i think u will get 15 months the first year for the single-Non-O also as you apply for a 1 year extension after your initial 3 month visa expires. 3-I dont work in thai and i come to thailand by tourist visa Then i haven't income in thai , if thai embassy want see my bank statement , what can i do for it i can print all of my bank statements online. however being paranoid like i am, i can call my bank & ask them to issue me a non-confidential monthly statement that doesn't show any sensitive info like my account numbers, so that is my plan when the time comes for me to produce a bank statement. 4-When i get married ,I must go out from thailand every 12months and i come back again, and i must repeat it FOREVER ? i just know that you need to renew your visa at regular intervals, whether every 3 months or every year (depending on your choice of Non-O visa). no one gets a pass on this unless you go for the thai PR app. you are correct in assuming thailand doesn't give away any long-term stays based on marriage or any other condition. you are required to apply for & renew applicable visas.
June 27, 200719 yr Author thanx But one thing : 1-I come thai by tourist visa(it is 30 days) and i marry , i have no money in thai bank because i am a tourist .What i do for next step ? 2-400kB must be in thai bank or possible in a bank out of thailand ? 3-my wife bank statment is ok for embassy? and different weired thing: 3-I know a foreigner worker , he told me ,immigration gave him a book and he go to immigration every 3months and they just stamp his book and he never go out of thailand , how this possible?! June 27, 200719 yr 1. You can extend your stay for 60 days one time at a cost of 1,900 baht using section 7.23 of National Police Order 606/2006 7.23 In case of entering for visiting a Thai wife / husband or child. The permission shall be granted only one time with the granted period not exceeding 60 days. After that you will have to qualify for extension of stay with 40k family monthly income or exit to obtain visa entry(s) for 90 days. 2. 400k to obtain a multi entry non immigrant O visa from Singapore can be in any bank account but documents should be within the month. 3. That would be up to the Embassy but do not believe it would be accepted. 4. A person with a work permit and one year extension of stay from immigration would report his address to immigration every 90 days.
July 4, 200719 yr Author Thanx dudes 1-Then i can apply for multi entry visa (run every 90days) if i prove 400kbaht (no need 40k/month income) ? 2-My thai wife works in foreigner company and she must has been good income , i never asked her , i saw somewhere else on visa agents sites that bank statement can be belong to wife or husband and embassy dont care , right?
July 5, 200719 yr 1. Yes; but only in selected locations. 2. Embassy is only involved it money is foreign income of foreign spouse. They would not be involved for Thai. For that tax payments must be shown.
