Football - In last night's CL action in Group A Liverpool beat Napoli 2-0 at Anfield, both these teams have qualified for the last 16.  Glasgow Rangers were beaten 3-1 by Ajax in Scotland, In Group B  FC Porto defeated Atletico Madrid 2-1 and Bayer Leverkusen and Club Bruges drew 0-0. In Group C leaders Bayern Munich beat second placed Inter Milan 2-0 and Barcelona won 4-2 at Viktoria Plezn. Tottenham Hotspur progress to the last 16 as well after beating Marseille 2-1 in France to top Group D. Second placed Eintracht Frankfurt won 2-1 in Portugal at Sporting Lisbon.

 

Cricket - England earned a 20-run win over New Zealand to reignite their hopes in the Men's T20 World Cup in Australia.


Knowing defeat would all but eliminate them, England survived under intense pressure to successfully defend 179 at the Gabba.The Kiwis registered 159-6. They will qualify for the semi-finals if they beat Sri Lanka on Saturday, as long as Australia do not beat Afghanistan a day earlier and also overturn England's significant net run-rate advantage.

 

F1 - Reigning Formula E champion Stoffel Vandoorne will join Aston Martin in 2023 as test and reserve driver. The former McLaren Formula 1 driver will share the role with Felipe Drugovich  who joined in September.
