Should we change the section name???

Maybe the female thai contingent of this forum don't post in here becuase of the section name. :o & thats not good :D When this section was created it was becuase a couple of us girls had found thaivisa but didn't want to interrupt the other more male oriented sections with questions of good salons or where to buy SKII or gyny questions  SO George in his infinate kindness created this section for us :D . Now since then, quite a few more girls have found this site & we have a nice balance of thai & farang ladies posting on a regular basis. I think the name should be changed to relect that, as although anyone is welcome here, (providing thay behave themselves :D , we are ladies after all) this is the female face of thaivisa & should be available to all of the fairer sex.

So come on girls (& boys) what do you think? :D

Definitely no.

GIRLS IN THAILAND, sounds too much like a discussion forum abot BG's, sex and the sex industry. You would end up getting all the posters you are trying to avoid.

How about :

Female Forum

The Girls Room

Women's Corner

Girls Talk

Bitches Basement ( sorry ignore that one )

hi all,

one thing you may want to keep in mind when changing the name, is the importance of getting found via the search engines.

if you change it away from 'ferang girls in thailand', then it'll dissappear amongst all the other cr*p one finds when typing in 'thailand' and 'girls' on the same line in google.

also, i have a feeling that by having 'ferang girls' on the title is keeping certain elements away :-)

suggestion - why don't keep the name as is, and make a sticky to explain who the forum is for?

just my two cents.

Cat has a very good point about being lost to like minded females when using search engines.

What about calling it the farang girls in thailand forum and then in the description add that thai females are welcome. Suggest a sticky note added for the men to remind them of polite behavior when amongst the ladies :o

Aren't all women here adults then? :D

Sorry, couldn't resist to bring that up.. Still something with 'women' in the title would again help to keep certain people out. "Farang Girls" and "Women's Forum" should sound about equally unappealing to those people. :o

Cheers,

Chanchao

Girls room has a certain appeal to it.

I'm sure we'll get more men reading,... :o:D

But as to get a more important woman audience, I would say that

Women in Thailand

or

Women's corner

Sound better.

But GIRLS, tell us what you want,... :D:D:D

trying to hold on to my youth chanchao, it's a death grip but I'm still trying :D

We're getting a good selection of names now, only need a couple of the birds to post as well :D & we can start making a descision :o

Rod, the idea of keeping farang in the title somewhere has nothing to do with Thai women being second class, nor does it have to do with keeping the "wrong" kind of people out, but has everything to do with how the forum comes up in search engines. If Farang or expat is kept out of the title it could, unfortunately end up being listed among all the porno sites/bridal agencies when search engines list it(type in women and thailand and see how many websites targeted at expat and thai females living in thailand actually come up).

Men should not need to be reminded of polite behavior when amongst the ladies!

Ah Rod, you chivalrous person you, too bad all posters can't be so sensible and nice.

I kind of like something like "Expat and Thai Women in Thailand" Listing the expat (or alternatively, farang) would then get the site listed in search engines for expat women searching for info.

Prefer being called "chick", ok babe :D:D

The more the merrier is my motto - it would be great if more thai females posted in here :D

Believe "girl" usually refers to a young or unmarried woman and even though it is fitting for some :o it doesn't accurately describe the rest. How about something like "Ladies Lounge"? This might even result in only attracting gentlemen posters

Easy to solve.

"Puu-ying Thai and Farang in Thailand".

Should attract only the puu-ying.

And a very limited number of "others".

A bit like it is now, I guess... :o:D

search engine ranking.

another thing to take into account on the name, is how far down the rank you are going to be if it's just something like 'women in thailand'. why? because porno websites have fantastic heads working for them, breaking rules etc, to make sure their clients sites come up in the first two or three pages.

so you need a name that:

#1 thai and western women searching will think of, and

#2 won't lose you on page 255+++ of google, because the average surfer will not search beyond page three.

when i went looking for this site, i typed in 'farang women thailand' and found this forum at the top of page one. you can't get any better than that.

same thing for 'farang and thai women in thailand'. it's the 'farang' or 'ferang' that gets the top google pages because the forum has a unique name, and 'ferang' or 'farang' is often used in conversation inside the forum. google bots like that and will show appreciation accordingly.

and if we were really smart, we'd all put 'farang and thai women' in our sigs :-)

don't like that? how about hit the search engines coming and going with ...

farang and thai 'women > ladies > girls' in thailand

My Mother, when in her sixties, used to host "Girl Talk" parties, at which only girls and very occasional men were permitted to take part. Her "girl" attendees ranged between the ages of mid fifties to late seventies.

Girl Talk is by no means restricted to those under a certain age.

Furthermore, I would believe that as this is ThaiVisa.com, it is unnecessary to say in Thailand. After all, we have General Topics, Sport etc, Health etc. None of which mention Thailand in the title.

Wow, I'm really touched. It's very nice of all you guys to make some changes so that we will not feel so left out. Thanks :o

I kind of like Girls Talk though.

Let's face it ... Thailand is (sadly ... there's much more to the country and its people) known worldwide as The Land of Cheap Sex Romps ... and by far the biggest percentage of men hunting for "Thai girls" on search engines at any given instant will be <deleted> looking for a cheap thrill.

Please feel free to send those <deleted> to me and they will have the bloody thrill of their lives :D

Some good suggestions so far :D I think the words farang, expat & women has to be in there somewhere due to the search engune points raised. I'm gonna ask admins how that works as I have no clue, we obviouslt don't want to remove ourselves from the search facility by removing the farang part of the name but I wonder if we can add it on a second line. Something like;

Girls Talk (or whatever we choose as main title)

For Farang, Thai & Expat Women

I'll check it out.

Keep the suggestions coming tho' girls & boys :o it's all good so far.

I would do that the other way around. My guess would be that a 'link' is treated by Google as a more reliable description of what it links to. It's very good to have 'Thai' 'Expat' and 'women' in the same link. Then 'Girls Talk' could be the sub-title / description.

Cheers,

Chanchao

Cheers Chanchao & George :D, thats a better idea to use the more relaxed title as a second header. That way we still come up on the search engines whilst explaining what we are about. :o

I still think it would be better to change to Farang and Thai girls instead of only farang.

It will not change the result on the search engines.

Just add a "few" more hits,... :D
