November 11, 20223 yr Hi There I want to build/have built a fireplace with pizza oven above on my terrace. Seen a lot of stuff on youtube so have got a good idea of how its done. Have'nt looked into getting firebricks, flues, cement as yet but wondered if any of you guys have ever done this, either here or in the old country? My builder is reluctant to do this having never done it before. If I can find a competant tradesman with experience then I would hire him however if not will have to do this myself. Any advice, tips or direction would be very welcome. Cheers
November 11, 20223 yr I know of a guy in Surin that was going to build one himself, from plans he got off the internet. This is similar to what he wanted to build... I'm not sure if he ever completed it though... "Fire bricks" or refractory bricks and "fire cement" or refractory mortar are readily available here and also in a few different colours. Have a look at OneStockHome for example: Edited November 11, 20223 yr by Encid
November 11, 20223 yr Author Hi Encid Thank you for the info, very reassuring. That is what I want to build but with a bigger fireplace. Good to know the bricks and cement are available but my flue is going to be a long one as it needs to clear an overhanging roof. Maybe 3 metres and tieing the 2 ovens flues together may be tricky but not thought that thru as yet. Do you know if a flue like that would be available to purchase and where I could get one? Cheers

There is at least one that was built in 2011 by Max and Bee in Chang Mai, they have their build on CoolThaiHouse

Perhaps by using stainless steel instead of bricks? Lazada link
June 7, 20251 yr I built my own outdoor bread oven and rocket stove using handmade bricks from this place in Maechan, Chian Rai. The area is noted for the high quality of red-bricks local artisans make by hand. My oven is already years old, and bakes bread using these "fire-bricks", and they are still just like new.
