Question about Sofar Export with a Pea Meter

Featured Replies

I have a question regarding limiting the export on a Sofar inverter.

so if Anti-Reflux (AFR) is on and Watt is set 0 export is disabled. This prevents Export. Correct?

but if I limit it to 500 W (with AFR ON) how long will it take for the meter to go back 1 unit if on the meter it says 400 Rev per kW if the inverter can pump out 500W (full sunshine for exmple)

our current GTI pumps put 200w(ish) and the meter isn’t going backwards very fast (even without demand in the house).

edit: is there a limiting factor on how fast a meter spins backwards?

0.5kW (500W) will take 2 hours to send 1kWh out through the meter.

At 500W the disc would rotate 200 times per hour (3.3 times per minute).

So, time your disc, over say 5 minutes and you can calculate Watts exported.

I think I got it, I checked for 2 minutes and the disc rotated back approx 6 times

So 6 x 30 = 180 revs (per hour)

200 revs = 500W

So 500/200 = 2,5

2,5 * 180 = 450W (Exported, approx of course)

Obviously being more patient when counting disc revs would yield a more accurate result ????

It was b..... hot, I already wanted to call it quits after 1 minute ????
