eyespan
I've seen a model in Chatuchak and Yong Dee(Hatyai) that shoots a small projectile and is connected by cable to the gun itself so that the current can still travel. Lots of stun batons. Don't know if they are legal or not though.
Snapshot
Funny enough: It's not illegal to sell stun guns in Thailand But is is illegal to carry one If Police find out you will be arrested for carrying a weapon, and that's not fun I can tell you Why do you want to buy one in the first place, in 20 years in Thailand I have never been robbed (except of my innosense)
eyespan
A Singaporean Chinese friend of mine got real concerned when his foreman got stabbed in Songkhla. So he got a bodyguard....... Leave the arm bearing to the professionals I guess. I think weapons on Farangs can be a pretty sensitive issue? I keep one at home but it is fully licensed under my wife's name. Can't go out with it strapped to me though. Why not get a dog instead? My rotty is fun to be with and serves as a grand deterrent!
Nam Kao
I placed a thread earlier about self defence in Thailand with no clear answer on whether a falang is allowed to defend himself. I have a feeling if you are attacked and you successfully defend yourself -you will end up in jail - deported and blacklisted. You may get a chance to pay your way out of the situation though. Please someone tell me my feeling is wrong. The other edge of the sword is the attacker/family/freinds will seek revenge. thanks nam
stu_$
when u say chatuchak do you mean chatuchak markets ? yes, i know everyone is your best friend in LOS, would think of needing one here... i want one for when i go home to australia in my line of work, i regularly carry large sums of cash which is/can not be insured... so, maybe you can understand this ? even though the oz government will not allow me to protect myself i would very much like to do so case in point ...last time i was robbed, lost nearly $20,000 which is a few months work for me, cops got DNA samples off my car and told me the gang whose car i identified , did 4 robberies that nite "no worries"...we'll get em for sure they told me , that was 7 months ago ...i'm still waiting for that phone call

I know what you mean. As earlier said, a farang with a weapon can be a tricky issue. Any kind of weapon, especially when caught by the police. Tornado
They are for sale in Hadyai if you do not find them in Bangers. I own a torch type stun gun, a tazer, cross bow and pepper spray. If you want directions to the stall - PM me and I will try and explain where.

eyespan
true...customs are very strict, such things are illegal ! You are forewarned! Anyways, Chatuchak is a WEEKEND market where most of the shops close in the evening around sunset. Keep bargaining as it is expected and you would find yourself practically in shopping heaven. Its fun, but as usual watch out for your wallet and a personal word of advise, watch out for dehydration, hot place eh?
