unheard
I normally use a local Government Savings Bank ATMs because they charge a single withdrawal fee that's being reimbursed in full by Schwab. I've tried other bank ATMs and discovered an additional withdrawal transaction fee on top of the "normal" fee. The additional fee is not being reimbursed by Schwab. I keep hearing that "all" ATMs fees are being reimbursed by Schwab but that wasn't the case in my experience. Could you guys please confirm the transaction fees process? sqwakvfr
I’m with USAA FSB and at all ATM’s in Thailand I am charged 220 Baht + 1% Surcharge on the amount converted from Baht to USD. I could also add USAA always converts at a lower exchange rate. Now I am only reimbursed a maximum of $10 per month by USAA.
gamb00ler
I have only used my Schwab card at a Bangkok Bank ATM in Dec '21. I was only charged the usual 220฿ fee which was fully refunded by Chuck. The fees were refunded at the same time the money was withdrawn from my Schwab account. bluebluewater
I use my Schwab card in Thailand twice a month and ALL fees are reimbursed. There has never been a time when they were not credited back. Indeed, that has been the case wherever else in the world that I have traveled and used my Schwab card. I don't leave home without it! 1
gamb00ler
@bluebluewater can you identify which bank's ATM's you have used to make withdrawals with your Schwab card? OP seems to have extra charges only from certain ATM's.
bluebluewater
I expect I have used every bank in Thailand at one time or another. No real preference or majority of use among any of them.
