Dina Boluarte became Peru’s first female president on Wednesday, capping off a dramatic day which saw her predecessor detained by police and impeached by lawmakers.

Boluarte, the country’s former Vice President, was sworn into the top job at Congress to become Peru’s sixth president in under five years.

The ceremony took place hours after a majority of 101 members in the 130-person legislative body voted to impeach former leader Pedro Castillo.

A former president quickly arrested and impeached...no one above the law in Peru that ranks only 71 in the 2021 Democracy Index.

And America that ranks 26 after almost a year of attempted insurrection by the former president is still being investigating for a crime? 

Enough - let the wheels of Justice take precedence as it must in a democracy.

 Must admit I dont know much about my SA friends governance.Sounds like a big political struggle, their quasi democratic republic ,with selecting 6 presidents in 5 years. 

 Leave it to the people  to decide whats right ,their congress cant according to the freedom article, this isnt the first time  they deep six a President!

Sounds like something should be look at ,starting with their congress!
