Siam Rath reported on a chase and subsequent capture of someone believed to be on drugs. It happened on the normally quiet seaside island of Koh Chang.

Cops got a call about a man in a Nissan March.

He refused to stop and raced for Kai Bae where he was cornered by a gelato shop.

The police parked two trucks to block him in but this created 2 km tailbacks.

It was two hours before the man was in custody - he had been brandishing a knife.

His car had no narcotics at all.

Just prescription meds.

It appeared he was going without his meds.

The media called him a mental health patient in their headline.

The whole thing took 2 hours to resolve.
