Visa Refused...

Featured Replies

Just heard of a guy who went to KL to get his Non Imm B visa, Idian chap.

Hes been refused any type of visa to re-enter thailand, even a tourist visa.

Apparently KL wont issue any visas to Indian or Pakistani's (apologies for spelling errors!) After a bit of hassle, phone calls from the perspective employer and some calsl to immigration they have agreed to let him in on a 15 day visa.

Anyone else heard of similar problems?

Sounds like there is something else going on there....

So maybe its a case of "Som Num Na" :o

15 day visa?i never heard of it,i think it's the visa on arrival.

what about in penang?are they being refused there as well?

I'd not heard of a 15 day visa either, very strange. I dont know about Penang.

15 day entry is normal for many nationalities arriving without a proper visa

India passports holders must apply in their country of residency. Otherwise they can apply for a non-extendable 15 days on arrival visa for tourism purposes only.

There is a fifteen-day transit visa. That is probably what was issued to him.

I don't know the reason for the regulations but could imagine it is a reciprocal

thing. Means, perhaps Thai can only apply in Thailand for a visa to go to India.

Happened to me once before, when applying in Hong Kong for a visa for India, was denied, since I do not live there. A friend of mine was refused in Taipei for same reason, no residency. Both of us are holding EU-passports.

Have also a look in here:

Well, what is fair?

Fortunately my wife has a p/port that allows her to travel to any country without the hazzle Thai people have. But reading through the threads here about problems for getting a visa for Thais, feel it is not fair.

Basically everybody (from 41 countries) can visit Thailand without bothering to get a visa, not true the other way round. :o

George is absolutely correct with one exception. The Indian can also apply in any country provided that he has formal residency in that country. That 15 day visa can be applied for on arrival, and it is only for tourism purposes, and a confirmed outbound airticket must be shown to the immigration officer on application.

15 days is right for Vsia on Arrival for Indian nationals!!

This has been the Situation for several years.

and it applies to all citizens of the Sub Continent

including Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan & Sri Lanka

ALL of whom (unless as Doc says - they are Resident

in the Respective Country) must apply for Thai Visas in

their home Country.

I understand that Thai Embassies in neighbouring Countries have

notices to this effect. I personally saw the one in Hanoi in May 2000

But not all citizens of the Sub Continent

are entitled to the 15 days visa on arrival.
