Travel Insurance WARNING ! After motorcycle crash !

Featured Replies

The sister of a man who is facing a large medical bill after a motorbike crash in Thailand has urged others to check their travel insurance policies.

The Boxing Day crash left 28-year-old Adam Davies with serious injuries, including a fractured skull.

Adam, from Dinas Cross, Pembrokeshire, now faces large medical costs which are not covered by his travel insurance.

Sad story and hope for the best. Seems like he had an annual multi-trip policy issued as part of a premium bank account. These type of policies normally cover "unlimited travel worldwide with a maximum of 30 days per trip". Normally there is a stipulation that each trip must start and finish from the UK. Some policies offer 90 days per trip. Beyond that, then single trip cover is needed. The fact he had a motorcycle accident is irrelevant as they still wouldn't cover if he'd been run over by a bus or had a heart attack.
