Daily News Thai Caption: Search intensifies

Daily News reported that a Romanian man named as Sebastian S., 46, was missing after he dived under his boat to check on a faulty anchor.

He was with a compatriot called Alexandru and a woman called Saowalak on a speedboat off Cape Phrom Thep.

Sebastian, the owner of the boat, went to check on the anchor but did not emerge from the water.

His friend, with less diving experience, only 2/3 months, called his wife and got the number of the Rawai Coastguard.

By evening the Thai media reported that the area was abuzz with activity as the search for the missing man intensified.

The Thai wife of the missing man was seen lighting joss-sticks praying for her husband's survival.

The party on the boat had earlier left Nai Han beach on a trip to look at tropical corals - something they had done many times before.

Weird...anchor ropes on small pleasure craft aren't usually that long. Maybe he got caught up in an underwater current.
