Sanook Thai Caption: Street attack

Sanook reported with CCTV video evidence on fighting between men of different colleges in western Bangkok.

Footage showed the two sets of assailants both armed with swords.

Witnesses said that the trouble started when two young men on a motorcycle came across three others from another college on another bike.

It happened near the end of Ekkachai Soi 76.

Violence in the street spilled over into a shop where a woman narrowly missed being hit with the weapon.

There were two people left injured, one was named as Phonkanok, 21.

The Bang Khun Thian police are investigating.

These are not men! Their manhood is very questionable!

Where I come from colleges and universities are where people go to become highly educated and increase in maturity, not to behave like Neanderthal thugs.

A regular thing in bkk and other places too.

Lack of parenting.

Lack of proper education.

Too much violent soap tv nightly.

Lack of police to instantly arrest these "wannabe-men" and hand out proper severe time behind bars, or fines that really hurts 10k+

Pathetic.

As long as they hurt nobody else then I approve, with luck most will kill each other so less in the gene pool

I wonder what they are majoring in.  Maybe Business. Business can be kind of cutthroat at times. I've never seen anyone show up to a business meeting with a sword in hand, but I've never done business in Thailand.

Too much Yaba.

Anxiety, aggression and violence are all possibilities which is why crime often goes hand in hand with yaba abuse.

But, but, but... there's more student sword fighting in <insert name of Western country here> than in Thailand.

Ten years in prison for each one.  No excuses like becoming a monk for 3 months.  Easy enough to identify the culprits.

if it happen again, close down the 'colleges'

My suggestion to the Media:

when covering stories like this replace the word "man" with "idiot", maybe this will help to reduce the amount of incidents like this... (At the very least it would make for a laugh at their expense)

Been going on for decades. Just part of the culture the Thais are so proud of.

Take them back to the jungle.

Looks like barking v mad dog colleges having a nutcase reunion ????

Thai boys are not usually like this, it happens for sure but it isn't "normal". Something has definately triggered it. Its actually scary how violent they can be when they're armed and in a gang. Long gone are the days when a fight was between 2 people using their fists.  The police might not even do anything even if they know who these kids are - which is actually part of the problem.

I think it's a bit deeper than that, it's a cultural hatred that goes back generations!

Said it before , say it again, find them , cancel their college/university and shove them in the army for 5 years - pretty sure that deterrent would out many off

Give them 2 years hard labour in a Burmese Work Camp so that they gain a better appreciation for the privileged life that they have.

They are majoring in "Bone breakers".
Once they finish school, they can start working as "convincing people to pay their debts".

Usually the technical colleges isn't it.

Don't take a sword to a gun fight boys....

So is the Pen still mightier than the Sword ?

Oh, for a moment I thought this was leading up to settling it by a swordfight of champions ????

Yes, I had to double check the footage because I though it was just a rerun of a similar incident a few years back.  Thai men are emotionally retarded.  And it is getting worse.

not normal for thai boys generally. but sadly, for years vocational college students have been fighting with each other. college and police authorities should have dealt with this issue years ago.

Oxford-Cambridge boat racing and debating contests.... but Thai style.

A bit more simian, to the untrained eye, but the only difference is one of culture. ????

Five years in the army? The Thai army? That's definitely going to improve them.

And where I come from you need higher education and skills to join what is a modern professional army.

I would recommend a katana

School spirit at it's finest.
