In the early hours of Saturday Morning, Mr. Thomas George aged 66 from England made his way to Pattaya Police Station to complain about a theft which had taken place in Soi Diana Inn near the entrance to Soi Beokeow. The man who had been drinking all night was approached by two transsexuals on a motorbike as he walked along the street.

They approached Mr. George and in the process “picked his pockets”. Nearly 20,000 Baht in cash, a credit card and other personal items were stolen from his pockets. A full description of the two suspects was given to Police and a search is now underway.

A special unit of the Tourist Police armed with cattle prods zapping anyone carrying that kind of cash around would be helpful too.

A good idea that! :o

What the hel_l gets into the head of these people that causes them to go out on a bender till the early hours of the morning carrying that amount of dosh is beyond me. OK maybe his hotel doesn't have room safes but what's wrong with travellers checks? Or split the money up between all your pockets, at least that way the sticky fingered LB's only get a percentage take.

They should make all tourists in Pattaya sign a waiver saying they'll not hold Thailand, the Thai people nor the Thai police force responsible for large amounts of cash lost to pickpockets when drunk and/or staggering around late at night.

What a wonker!

Must have been something going on if the LB's could get close enough to pick his pockets. I think, as per usual, the whole story hasn't come out.

Soundman.

Well, in fairness to the finger up the nose victim, the types of LBs who do this regularly are notorious for getting close to their marks in just this fashion by feeling them up. In Phuket, there are many instances where they had to be cracked down on by the BIB.
